Pre-school

Offering pre-schooling for village children greatly improves their chances of succeeding when they begin public Primary School. Having access to learning aids, games, music, and supplies, often for the first time, gives the students the head start needed to beat the dismal national drop-out averages. Often our preschools will be the child’s first exposure to Spanish since, often, Mayan dialects are spoken at home. Our teachers are all university trained, bi-lingual, and have attended additional Montessori style workshops to master more interactive, student centered teaching skills. Most importantly, we provide two teachers for each classroom of 12 students so each student receives much needed one on own instruction.
